Download data. Source NOAA-GHCN

The global data that is offered here, can get free of charge on the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) website and in particular on your ftp at this link: http://www1.ncdc.noaa.gov/pub/

The NOAA Meteorological Database has more than 80000 meteorological stations distributed throughout the planet. You can find historical data in some of them for more than 200 years (especially in the USA)

What you can get here are the same data, structured by continents, separated by weather station, for each country, improving what is offered by the NOAA website, in order to make easier to understand because their data is not easy to use for a basic study.

You can find a file for each of the weather stations. In addition each file of each station is structured in a line of data for each day. In each of those lines, some or all of the following meteorological variables, that build the core of this historicla database, are included:

- Column 1: Meteorological Station Identifier
- Column 2: Date (dd/mm/yyyy) - Beware of this field if you open it with excel. Make sure it shows up correctly-
- Column 3: Maximum temperature in tenths of a degree Celsius
- Column 4: Minimum Temperature in tenths of a degree Celsius
- Column 5: Precipitation in tenths of milimeters
- Column 6: Snow in milimeters
- Column 7: Depth of Snow in milimeters

You will find the files in .csv format (Values separated by commas), which you can open with EXCEL.

You can see the countries contained in each of the continents, in this list. Not all stations have daily data and some even only have a few months. There are also some stations with data since 1800 (Stations in the USA)

You can download separately the data of the stations belonging to each of the continents.

The update date of this file is the one that appears below in each of the download buttons.

The file is downloaded through the payhip.com payment gateway (€ 2.50). Payment is possible through Paypal / Credit Card.

The download process is as follows:

1.- PRESS THE "DOWNLOAD" BUTTON OF THE DATA YOU WANT. (The desired product will appear on a new page)
2.- When you were requested, enter the email to which you want the download link to arrive.
3.- Identify yourself in Paypal and make the payment
4.- You will receive in your e-mail direction entered in step 2, an email with the link to download the file.
5.- In addition, a screen will also appear to directly download from the browser
